Kathleen Roshene

Kathleen Roshene Prasad Menon  graduated from the Malaysian Institute of Arts and received her Diploma in Music. She majored in classical vocal and minored in piano performance. Kathleen has been  active in the choral scene for the past 17 years now. She performed at various Young Choral Aademy(YCA) productions, at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre(KLPAC), The Actor’s Studio, Damansara Performing Arts Centre (DPAC),  Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO)and etc.

 Kathleen has been a part of various award- winning choirs namely Naturally Vocal Youth Choir which was awarded Gold Diploma(Mixed Youth Voices) at the 1st Bali International Choral Festival (2013) and the Malaysian Institute of Arts(MIA) Ladies Choir which was the Category Champion of the Equal Voices Category in the 2nd Vietnam International Choir Competition(Gold Diploma, 2012). Kathleen  was selected as one of the representatives of Malaysia to perform with the Asia Pacific Youth Choir(APYC). She performed with them at the World Choral Summit of the International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM) in Seoul, Korea(2014), at the Expo Milano, where they toured Milan,Italy (July, 2015) and at the IFCM Asia Pacific Choral EXPO in Macau(November, 2015). 

She is also the soprano of The 4 Of Us Vocal Quartet, a pop & jazz a cappella vocal ensemble which was awarded Best Overall Production and Festival Director’s Award at Short+Sweet Choral Malaysia(2015) and were the invited guests to perform at the Yayasan Sime Darby Arts Festival(2016). They travelled to Seoul, Korea(2017) to compete in an acappella competition and to Taiwan(2018) to compete and participate in the Vocal Asia Acapella Festival. She has also travelled to Cork, Ireland to attend the Summer Sing Festival and work with the children there. 

Currently, Kathleen is working at the Young Choral Academy(YCA) as a children’s choir teacher and an Assistant Music Director of the Young Kuala Lumpur Singers(YKLS), a choir under the academy. She also currently teaches music in Kindergarten and Primary level at Dwi Emas International School, Shah Alam.
